"Though shy at first, this donor really opened up as he progressed through the program and revealed himself as quite a profound thinker. One of his favorite quotes he shared with us was, “Real living is living for others” which prompted him to become a donor. He has a great passion for martial arts and is currently a 3rd degree black belt holder working towards his 4th degree, which would promote him to international status as a martial arts instructor. The youngest in his family, he has two older sisters all brought up as Roman Catholics - although he himself is currently non-practicing. He says that growing up with Catholic beliefs contributed to a good upbringing for both himself and his sisters, and interestingly, despite being well mannered, he doesn't believe in the term “good old fashion values”, thinking it redundant. As he says in his own words, "respect and good manners are timeless. They're just as important now as they have always been."
